1. 1. the wire would have to be cut into 4 equal parts, making each side of the square x/4 units long
so Area = (x/4)^2 = x^2 /16

2. In this one, isn't the side of the square equal to 2x (the diameter of the circle) ?
You should be able to take it from here.

2. So the area would be 4x^2 ?
and the area of a circle is pi * x^2

So would the area be (4-pi) x^2?
