  1. it's not an expression, it's an equation. If you want to solve for x, then

    1/3 x = 1/6 + 5/6
    1/3 x = 1
    x = 3

    so, what do you really want to do?

    1/3x - 5/6 = 2/6x - 5/6 = 1/6 (2x-5)

    3ax^2 - 27a You can factor that into 3a (x^2 - 9), which also equals 3a(x-3)(x+3). It is not clear from your question what you are supposed to do with that algebraic expression. If it were equal to zero, x would be +3 or -3. If
