I need to write at least one paragraph on this...

A 52 year old man suffers a pulmonary embolism that orignated as a blood clot in his right leg. Describe this condition and how it develops. Trace the pathway of th blood clot from the leg to the lungs..

This what I have so far I know what I want to say but it's not going so well

John Smith a 52 year old man suffered a pulmonary embolism that orginated as a blood clot in his right leg. This happed when he was patient at Columba hospital. Mr Smith has been on bed rest for a few days. One morning he had compliants of lightheadness pain and swelling in his right leg and a rapid heart rate. It was soon determined that Mr Smith had a deep vein thrombosis .This happened when a blood clot was embedded deep in a vein in his right leg. The clot blocked bood circulation through these veins, which carries blood from the lower body back to the heart. A blood clot broke loose snd traveled through his blood stream and cause a blockage of blood vessels other wise kown as the pulmonary arteries in the lung.

I am not sure what else I need to add or if there is something I need to take a way thanks inadvance for your help

Overall, your paragraph provides a good overview of the case and describes the development of a pulmonary embolism resulting from a blood clot in the right leg. To further enhance your paragraph, you could consider adding more details about the process of clot formation and the mechanism of clot migration to the lungs. Here's a revised version:

John Smith, a 52-year-old man, suffered a pulmonary embolism originating as a blood clot in his right leg while being treated at Columba Hospital. This condition, known as deep vein thrombosis (DVT), occurs when a blood clot forms deep within a vein, most commonly in the leg. DVT can be triggered by factors such as prolonged immobilization, surgery, or underlying medical conditions. In Mr. Smith's case, the combination of bed rest and extended hospital stay likely contributed to the development of the blood clot.

Initially, Mr. Smith experienced symptoms such as lightheadedness, pain, and swelling in his right leg, accompanied by an accelerated heart rate. Upon medical assessment, it was confirmed that he had a deep vein thrombosis. This blood clot obstructed the blood flow through the affected veins, which are responsible for returning blood from the lower extremities to the heart. However, the story doesn't end there.

As time passed, a portion of the blood clot broke loose, becoming an embolus. This embolus, now traveling freely within the bloodstream, eventually made its way to the lungs through the right ventricle of the heart. This process is known as embolization. Once in the lungs, the embolus lodged itself into one of the pulmonary arteries, causing a blockage. This blockage prevents blood from adequately oxygenating, leading to significant impairments in lung function.

Consider incorporating these details into your paragraph to provide a more comprehensive explanation of the condition and its development.
