Curriculum Development

I have a question that I need help in answering.

Miss Sanchez lives in Washington,D.C.
She was planning fied trips for her
pre-school class. Which one of the
following field trips would NOT be
an appropriate choice for her students?

A. Going to the National Mall to
see the cherry blossoms

B. A walk to the Lincoln Memorial

C. A bus tour of the historic district

D. Walking to the Capitol to deliver
pictures drawn for the President.

I know children need opportunities to
be able to move around freely, make some
noise, and be able to participate in an
activity than just looking at something.
I am hung up on this question, and I
NEED HELP! I am debating between A OR
D. Can you help? Thank YOU!!!

I'm thinking perhaps A.

A bus tour of a historic district is inappropriate for pre-schoolers. Sitting on a bus isn't fun and doesn't let the children use energy and creativity. In addition, history is anything older than a few months for young children. They don't have a time consciousness, so a historic district is basically meaningless to them.

The other choices all involve allowing the children to be energetic and focuses their attention on something they can both relate to and learn from.

Yes, the attention span of preschoolers is to short for the bus tour, as well.
