Put the following astronomical bodies in order from largest to smallest:

a. Universe
b. Galaxy
c. Moon
d. Planet
e. Solar System
f. Comet

f, c, d, e, b, a

Largest to smallest is: a, b, e, d, c, f. It really depends on how big the comets and planets and moons are, though. :)

I agree with Shaniqua's order of size.

The heads of comets are smaller than planets, but comparable to asteroids. If you include the length of their visible tails, comets are larger than planets. The tails are nothing but dust and gas, however. You only see them when the comet is relatively close to the sun

To put these astronomical bodies in order from largest to smallest, we need to understand their hierarchical structure:

1. Universe: The universe is the largest known astronomical entity, encompassing all matter, energy, and space. It contains billions of galaxies and spans an unimaginably vast expanse. However, as we currently understand it, the true size and extent of the universe are still unknown.

2. Galaxy: A galaxy is a large gravitationally bound system that consists of stars, stellar remnants, interstellar gas, dust, and dark matter. Galaxies come in various sizes, from small dwarf galaxies to massive elliptical galaxies. Our Milky Way galaxy, for instance, contains billions of stars.

3. Solar System: A solar system is a gravitationally bound system consisting of a central star (in our case, the Sun) and all the objects that orbit it. These objects include planets, moons, asteroids, comets, and other debris. Our solar system has eight planets (including Earth), numerous moons, and various other celestial bodies.

4. Planet: A planet is a celestial body that orbits a star, like our Sun. It is spherical in shape and has cleared its orbit of other similar-sized objects. Currently, there are eight recognized planets in our solar system: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.

5. Moon: A moon, also known as a natural satellite, is a celestial body that orbits a planet or dwarf planet. Moons are much smaller than planets and can be found in various sizes. For example, our Moon is the Earth's only natural satellite.

6. Comet: A comet is a small celestial object composed of ice, dust, and small rocky particles. As comets approach the Sun, they heat up, releasing gas and creating a glowing coma (a cloud of gas and dust) and a tail pointing away from the Sun. Comets are generally much smaller than planets or moons.

So, the correct order from largest to smallest is:
a. Universe
b. Galaxy
c. Solar System
d. Planet
e. Moon
f. Comet
