if 58.44 g of sodium chloride is dissolved in 0.5 liter of water what is the molarity of the sodium chloride solution? The molar mass of sodium chloride is 58.44 grams per mole.

  1. so you have one mole in half a liter which is 2 moles per liter

  2. Molarity=number of moles(n)/volume
    also n=mass(m)/molar mass(M)
    therefore,

    Molarity(C)=mass/molar mass*volume

    C=58.44g/0.5L(58.44g/mol)
    C=2moles per litre
