How about --
a kid who boasts that his big brother can beat up another kid's big brother?
or --
a person who shoplifts a candy bar and is then accused of shoplifting much more?
or --
a girl who boasts about her "hot" boyfriend?

but i don't get how to make them get into amusing troubles
