Write a fraction that is equivalent to 48/60 and which has a denominator of 300 _____
I don't know how to do this one is there anyone out there that can help?

  1. 48/60 = x/300

    We now cross-multiply.

    60(x) = 48(300)

    60x = 14,400

    x = 14,400/60

    x = 240

    So, what is the fraction?

    240/300

    What does 240/300 really mean? It means that if we were to reduce it to the lowest term, we would end up with 48/60.

    Why? Because they are EQUIVALENT fractions.
