It is fairly easy to catch a 20 N steel weight dropped from a height of 0.25 m or so. But if you attempt to catch the weight while resting your hand flat on a table, you are likely to be injured. Explain.

we are hurt because wen the weight falls on our hand it applies force on our hand but when the hand tries to pass the force over to the table it does not pass . this is because the force of the table on the hand is higher than the force of the hand on the table.......is this correct ??
