That sounds like a fun project! Making a homemade instrument can be a creative and rewarding experience. While making an accordion out of cardboard might be challenging, there are many other interesting instruments you can create with simple materials. Here are a few ideas:

1. Rubber Band Guitar: Use a shoebox or a wooden plank as the body of the guitar, attach different thicknesses of rubber bands across it as strings, and pluck them to create different tones.

2. Rainmaker: Take a long, sturdy plastic tube (like a wrapping paper tube), fill it with small beads, and seal the ends. As you tilt the tube, the beads will create a soothing sound reminiscent of rainfall.

3. Thumb Piano (Kalimba): Cut a small wooden block or use a flat-based metal container, attach metal or wooden strips of different lengths to act as keys, and pluck them with your thumbs to create melodies.

4. Water Bottle Xylophone: Arrange a set of glass or plastic water bottles filled with varying amounts of water in a row, and tap them with a mallet (or even a spoon) to produce different musical notes.

5. Maracas: Fill two empty plastic bottles with dried rice, beans, or beads, and seal the caps tightly. Shake them to create a rhythmic maraca sound.

As for finding instructions on how to make these instruments, there are several websites available. A popular DIY website like Instructables (www.instructables.com) provides detailed step-by-step tutorials for making various homemade instruments. Additionally, YouTube is a great resource for video tutorials where you can see each step visually. Simply search for the specific instrument you're interested in making, and you're likely to find plenty of helpful guides.

Remember, the key is to have fun and get creative with your instrument-making project. Good luck!
