There is a large [Cr2O7]-2 absorbance observed at 360 nm. Why can this wavelength not be used instead of the smaller absorbance at 440 nm?

Unfortunately I don't have all of the information you have before me but I suspect it has to do with some other ion absorbing at 350 nm. What is that ion? Could it be HCrO4^-?
