The cirucumference of a ballon is 75 inches and the diameter is 12 inches what is the volume?

Science - Ms. Sue, Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 9:54pm Thank you.

volume = 4/3 ð r3

V = (4/3) * 3.14 * 6^3

V = (4/3) * 3.14 * 216

V = (4/3) * 678.24

V = ?

I am still confuse how I figure out the answer? What is the process?

If then circumference is 75 inches and the ballon is spherical, then the diameter must be 75/pi = 23.87 inches.

In that case, the RADIUS, not the diameter, would be not quite 12 inches.

The data you have been given is incosistent. What is the shape of your balloon?

To calculate the volume of the balloon, you need to use the formula for the volume of a sphere which is V = (4/3) * π * r^3, where π is approximately 3.14 and r is the radius of the balloon.

To find the radius of the balloon, you can use the diameter. The diameter is given as 12 inches, and the radius is half of the diameter. So, the radius of the balloon is 12/2 = 6 inches.

Now you can substitute the value of the radius into the volume formula:
V = (4/3) * 3.14 * 6^3

First, calculate the value of 6^3:
6^3 = 6 * 6 * 6 = 216

Next, multiply the value of 216 by (4/3) * 3.14:
(4/3) * 3.14 * 216 = 904.32

So, the volume of the balloon is approximately 904.32 cubic inches.
