GENERAL CHEMISTRY CALCULATION

preparing working solution of the disinfectant Osyl from the stock solution requires diluting the stock one part Osyl to five parts water .this is V/V solution .in this situation you have 250ml of water so the question is:HOW MUCH OSYL IS NEEDED?

  1. 1 part Osyl + 5 parts H2O
    50 parts Osyl + 250 parts H2O.

    Now you check it to make sure things are ok. In the first, 1 part Osyl is 1/6 of the total volume. In the second, 50 is 1/6 of 300. Must be ok.
