I am having a ton of trouble with this lab question, I do not understand it at all. The question is:

Show how the rate of reaction in reciprocal seconds was calculated for the mixture in question 1, using the class average.

The mixture in question one is:
3HSO3^- + IO3^- + 3H2O --> 3SO4^4- + I^- + 3H3O^+

the class average: average time is 19s, 1/time is 0.053, and the rate is 0.000630

Thats all the information I have to work with, however I do not understand what the question is asking me.

Please help!

The question is asking you to calculate the rate of reaction in reciprocal seconds for the given mixture using the class average. To do this, you need to use the information provided - the average time, the reciprocal of time, and the rate.

Here's how you can calculate the rate of reaction in reciprocal seconds:

1. Start by calculating the reciprocal of the average time. In this case, the reciprocal of 19 seconds is 1/19 or approximately 0.053.

2. Divide the reciprocal of time by the average rate. In this case, divide 0.053 by 0.000630. This will give you the rate of reaction in reciprocal seconds.

So, by performing the calculation, the rate of reaction in reciprocal seconds for the mixture in question 1, using the class average, is approximately 84.127 reciprocal seconds.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions.
