What kind of attitude did Mother Jones have? I mean how did she speak?? Like, i know she was excited, and loud, but i cant find anything about the way she talked, or copies of her speeches

Thanks

This site claims that she was soft-spoken, but her voice carried. Also note that she was born in Ireland so probably had an Irish accent. She was also well-educated for the time -- having attended normal school -- which was where elementary teachers received their education. She taught for a while, so probably used correct grammar.

You're welcome.

Mary Harris Jones, better known as Mother Jones, was an American labor and community organizer, and she was known for her fiery and passionate speeches. Although we do not have recordings or transcripts of her actual speeches, there are various sources that provide insights into her speaking style and attitude.

To get a sense of Mother Jones' speaking style, you can look into primary and secondary sources such as:

1. Biographies and memoirs: There are several biographies and memoirs written about Mother Jones that provide descriptions and anecdotes about her speeches, including "Mother Jones: The Most Dangerous Woman in America" by Elliott J. Gorn and "The Autobiography of Mother Jones" by Mary Harris Jones herself.

2. Journalistic accounts: Newspapers and magazines from the time often reported on Mother Jones' speeches. Searching for articles and reports from the time period, particularly from labor-focused publications, may provide descriptions or even quotes from her speeches.

3. Historical records: The Library of Congress and other archives might have documents related to Mother Jones' speeches, which could include transcripts or summaries.

By exploring these sources, you can gain a better understanding of Mother Jones' speaking style, her choice of words, and the overall attitude she projected during her speeches. It's important to note that these sources may provide a subjective perspective, as they are interpretations of her speeches by others.
