Year 8 maths assignment - Algebra

The question on my assignment I'm having trouble with is:
18xy squared + 12x squared y cubed
I have to factorise it, and it doesn't work out.
If anyone knows how to do this question, please help!

I suggest that you go to some-one that know's what there talking about and ask them for help.

18x y^2 + 12x y^3

factor out y^2
y^2 ( 18x + 12xy)

Now factor out 6x, a common factor..
6xy^2(3 + .....

hahah

6xy squared(3y +2y)
u take out common factors
