For this x^(4) < x

becomes x^(4) - x < 0
becomes x(x^(3)-1) <0

then I don't get how it becomes this
x(x-1)(x^(2)+ x + 1) < 0

How would you find that out?
Could someone write the steps
Please

First, you don't need to put exponents in parentheses, just leave a space after it, so the next term will not be assumed to be part of the exponent..

To check it out, multiply (x-1)(x^2 + x + 1). The x and x^2 values cancel each other out.

I would have known how to factor x^3 - 1 either.
