just testing~ ¹

It didn't work, i got that small one sign

√ -- worked for me. You have to use the number pad, not the numbers across the top of the keyboard.

You have to follow the directions exactly.

Here is my attempt

√ works with Firefox browser, but not AOL9.0VR software browser, on the same PC.

I will stick with "sqrt" for square root.
I should stop using AOL's obsolete software

To create the √ symbol on a PC, follow these steps:

1. Make sure your Num Lock key is enabled.
2. On your keyboard, locate and hold down the Alt key.
3. While holding down the Alt key, type the number "251" on the number pad (usually located on the right side of the keyboard) using the numeric keypad.
4. Release the Alt key.

The √ symbol should now appear at the location of your cursor.

On a Mac, you can create the √ symbol by following these steps:

1. Make sure your keyboard is set to use a Unicode Hex Input method. You can check this by clicking on the Apple menu, then going to System Preferences > Keyboard > Input Sources. Make sure "Unicode Hex Input" is enabled. If it's not, add it by clicking the plus (+) button and selecting it from the list.
2. Place your cursor at the location where you want to insert the √ symbol.
3. Hold down the Option (⌥) key on your keyboard.
4. Press the letter "V" while still holding down the Option key.
5. Release the Option key.

The √ symbol should now appear at the location of your cursor.

Please note that the key combinations may vary depending on your keyboard layout or operating system settings.
