We just got through with a lab and we looked at ecoli, anabaena. There first section is prokaryotic cells and the question is did all living cells you saw in the lab contain mitochondrion. I know mitochondrion is the energy powerhouse of the cell but see nowhere in the first section where it discusses mitochondrion or is it labeled on the microscope drawings in the text. I would guess that the answer would be yes because they are the energy powerhouse as mentioned abovce but am unsure.
