What were churches like in England/Britan during the 1800's?

  1. Most of them were Anglican -- with large churches in cities and small churches in rural areas. Also -- most churches were hundreds of years old -- even in the 1800s.

    Here's a picture of the church where an ancestor of mine was vicar about 1600. It's still functioning as a church.
