I set this up for you in the last post.
Set up a proportion (ratio) and cross multiply. Solve for x.
1 / 30 = x / 1200
1200 = 30x
1200/30 = 30x/30
40 = x
Doesn't that make sense?
The ratio is 1 teacher to 30 students. There are 1200 students. 1200/30 = 40. So there are 40 teachers for 1200 students.
