How would you measure your computer monitor? Would you measure the monitors

width, length, circumference of the viewing area, or measure from the left
hand corner to the upper right hand corner? My roommate says you measure
the monitors circumference of the viewing area. But, I say you measure

diagonally

=)

To measure a computer monitor, you generally measure the diagonal length of the screen. This is done from the bottom left corner to the top right corner of the visible screen. This is commonly referred to as the "screen size" or "display size."

Your roommate is correct in this case. Measuring the circumference of the viewing area is not a common method of measuring a computer monitor. The width and length measurements also do not provide an accurate representation of the overall size of the monitor since they do not account for the diagonal length.

Therefore, to settle your bet, you should measure the monitor diagonally from the bottom left corner to the top right corner.
