  1. D + C = 12 (number of heads)
    2D + 4C = 32 (number of feet)

    Solve for D and C, using algebra.

  6. 8 ducks and 4 cows
    D + C = 12
    8 + 4 = 12
    2 D + 4 C = 32
    2(8)+ 4(4)= 32
    16 + 16 = 32
    32 = 32
