What is the vertical distance from the origin to the point (8, 1)?

I think this is wrong. Wrong!!!!!

Eh- I asked:

What is the vertical distance from the origin to the point (8, 1)?

just use the distance formula. The origin is (0,0), so the distance is

√((8-0)^2 + (1-0)^2) = √65

Or, plot the point and note that the line from (0,0) to (8,1) is the hypotenuse of a right triangle with legs 8 and 1. Then use the Pythagorean Theorem.

cattalehya

Is anyone still here?

but it asked for the vertical distance = 1 - 0 = 1

this is so mf wrong

thanks for the free answer i cheated on test ur bad

What is the vertical distance from the origin to the point (8, 1)?

I have no idea I'm just guessing: √((8-0)^2 + (1-0)^2) = √65

Or, plot the point and note that the line from (0,0) to (8,1) is the hypotenuse of a right triangle with legs 8 and 1. Then use the Pythagorean Theorem.

Is this correct?
