In which case would connect energy of particles be increasing?

A metal is heated at 1300°C
B metal is heated from room temperature at 200°*****
C metal is cooled at 1300°C
D metal is at room temperature 37°C

Water boils at 100°C and turns into steam which similarities or differences are there between water in these two states?

A the particles Will have more space between them and will be moving at a higher speed as steam.****
B the particles will have more space between them as steam but they will be moving at the same speed in both states.
C the particles will have more space between them as a liquid but they will be moving faster as steam.
D the particles will have more space between them as a liquid but they will be moving at the same speed in both states.

An ice cube tray full of water is put into a freezer the water eventually reaches 0°C and undergoes a phase change from a liquid to a solid which change occurs in the particles in water as it undergoes a phase change?

A the average kinetic energy decreases due to the arrangement of the particles
B The average kinetic energy decreases due to the motion of the particles****
C the potential energy decreases due to the motion of the particles
D the potential energy decreases do to the arrangement of the particles

An increase in thermal energy leads to____

A an increase in heat in an increase in kinetic energy until a phase change occurs****
B A decrease in heat in an increase in kinetic energy until a phase change occurs
C a decrease in heat and a decrease in kinetic energy until a phase change occurs
D an increase in heat and a decrease in kinetic energy until a phase change occurs

3. 1. Your choice is OK. Answer A could be right also if the heat raises the T above 1300 C. Even if it doesn't, however, if 1300 C is the boiling point of a substance than added heat will cause a phase change from say solid to liquid or liquid to vapor and the kinetic energy is increasing in a phase change because the particles in the liquid or gas are moving faster.
