An image that conveys the concept of genetics and heredity through the metaphor of construction. It consists of a depiction of interlocking bricks, a manual with various building instructions, and built structures. The structures represent genes, the manual as chromosome, and the set of building instructions as proteins. Additionally, the image contains pea plants demonstrating the concept of dominant and recessive traits for round and wrinkled peas, with the phenotype of a plant with genotype Rr being round.

A manual contains instructions for how to build a variety of structures using a set of interlocking bricks. If this scenario is used as a model for genetic information, which statement is correct?(1 point)

****Each structure is a gene.

Each set of instructions is a protein.

The manual is a chromosome.

The manual is a gene.

2.How are chromosomes and genes alike?(1 point)

They are both found on chromatids.

****They both encode a single protein.

They are both parts of DNA.

They both contain genetic material.

3.In pea plants, the allele for round peas, R, is dominant over the allele for wrinkled peas, r. What is the phenotype of a pea plant with genotype Rr?(1 point)

*****slightly wrinkled

round

wrinkled

some round and some wrinkled

I scarified my grade for you guys lmfao so here are the answers

1. The Manuel is a chromosome

2.they both contain genetic material

3.round

4.the combination of its alleles

5.they are expressed whenever present

6. bb

7. Their structure is related to their function

8.genetic biodiversity helps populations adapt to an environmental changes

9. Neutral mutations occur when a mutation in a DNA region results in the same sequence as the original

10. Genetic factors caused the differences in flower color

11. Two lizards of the same species grow to the different sizes in different-sized terrariums

12. It improves living organisms or parts of organisms by producing desired traits

I’m sorry I didn’t do the writing answers but trust me I went through the correct answers so yep um have a good day :) <3.

1. The manual is a chromosome

10. Increased generic similarity
11. Genetic factors caused the difference in flower color
12. Two lizards of the same species grow to different sizes in different sized terrariums
13. Beneficial. (You have to write in your own words the reason why- just think about it and you can answer it)
14. (You have to write in your own words)
15. (You have to write in your own words)
*** I tried to Google information for 13-15 and I’m not sure if my answers are correct so that’s why I didn’t post what I wrote. I think the answer are easy though if you just think about what the question is asking and Google if you need to. Good luck!! The answers I posted are definitely correct though, I just finished my test.
2022

ok I believe yall now the future kids that do this test won't have to wait like we did we are heroes (:

okay, I don't know if "your welcome lol" answers are correct because I haven't submit the test yet. just to try to be helpful this is what i put for number 13:

I would say beneficial, and that the fox would be more likely to survive being that "most of the year" the fox is able to blend in with its environment rather then it being brown, not blending in most of the year, and being less likely to survive.

I don't know if it is correct though.

Dont copy these word for word just word it differently so nobody catches on (my answers) :

Q13 - The fox's mutation is helpful. The fox's fur color matches the color of the snowy environment it lives in, which makes it easier for the fox to sneak up on its prey.
Q14 - Breed A's average weight is 9 pounds, and Breed B's average weight is 12. Some factors that are significant to their weight would be their diet, amount of fur, and size / length. I would track their growth rate by putting them both in the same size enclosure and monitor everything they do.
Q15 (This one's probably not right im just typin something random because i wanna finish)
The differences are because of the environment. The difference in root length is very drastic and one that can only be cause by not being exposed to the right amount of space to grow.
(ya welcome)

thank you so much, I hope they are correct because I will be using them to check my answers. I will have to trust you on this, and I will let everyone know if they are correct.

THEY ARE ALL CORRECT!!

The questions changed for me T-T

7th grade 7 a science genetics unit test

you're welcome. I'm on the last question now. if the answers aren't correct I might give the right answers but I really hope they are.
