A shop owner wants to make large scented pine cones for the holidays. If he wants the larger cones from a pine, which cones does he want? (1 point)

Consider a field where many plants are specifically pollinated by bees. If there was a sudden increase in the population of a bee predator, such as the dragonfly, we might observe a reduction in the bee population, which would lead to reduced pollination. Select the most likely outcome of this change in the ecosystem. (1 point)

Bees will start to avoid this area because of predation.

Wind will pollinate plants in this area.

The plant community will become smaller and less diverse.

Plants that were bee-pollinated will attract new insect pollinators.

Animals can help plants reproduce in a variety of ways. Which behavior can end up being more harmful than helpful?(1 point)

Insects like bees and butterflies drink nectar, carrying pollen from one flower to another.

Birds eat berries and seeds, dispersing the seeds in their droppings as they fly.

Hummingbirds drink the nectar of flowers, and they will defend their territory in order to secure their food supply.

Iguanas and tortoises eat leaves, fruits, and flowers, relying on each as important seasonal food sources.

Animals use a variety of behaviors to increase the chance of survival for their offspring. Which also doubles as a territorial behavior?(1 point)

Birds use nests to lay eggs and raise their young before they are ready to fly.

Bison travel in herds and surround calves when a predator is nearby in order to protect them from any attacks.

Koalas and other marsupials carry their young on their bodies as they travel.

Sea turtles lay their eggs in sandy nests to keep them hidden from predators and to regulate their temperature.

Coevolution can be seen between some plants and animals, like the yucca plant and the yucca moth. The flowers are shaped specifically so that only the tiny moth can pollinate them.
If the yucca moth goes extinct due to climate change or other human-generated factors, what would be the likely outcome for the yucca plant?

(1 point)

Humans would have to engineer a way to pollinate the plant.

The yucca plant would also go extinct.

The yucca plant would evolve a new way to be pollinated.

A new animal would evolve or adapt to take over the job of the yucca moth.

A student is analyzing data that compare the change in the total number of wading bird nests in the Everglades to the change in rainfall. Wading birds feed primarily on fish. Fewer nests were observed in dry years than wet years.

What is a reasonable inference about the relationship between wading bird reproductive success and water depth in the Everglades?

(1 point)

Water depth likely affects wading birds’ access to food, but this does not affect wading birds’ reproductive success.

Water depth likely affects wading birds’ access to food and, thus, affects wading birds’ reproductive success.

Water depth does not affect wading birds’ access to food and, thus, does not affect wading birds’ reproductive success.

Water depth does not affect wading birds’ access to food but does affect wading birds’ reproductive success.

What is a difference between how ants and elephants primarily use grouping for survival? (1 point)

Elephants use grouping for better chance of mating, and ants use grouping for better access to food.

Ants use grouping for better chance of mating, and elephants use grouping for better access to food.

Ants use grouping for cooperation, and elephants use grouping for protection of the young.

Elephants use grouping for cooperation, and ants use grouping for protection of the young.

Hammer orchids are plants with flowers that are highly modified to resemble a female thynnid wasp (i.e., a wasp of the Thynnidae family) and can only be pollinated by thynnid wasps. Female thynnid wasps cannot fly, but males can. When the female is prepared to mate, she will climb up a tall plant or a blade of grass and wait for a male to appear. Males will pick up the female from her perch and mate with her in flight.

Given this information, in three to five sentences, describe these details:

one other feature of the hammer orchid that could attract its pollinator
how the orchid’s flower adaptation could lead to pollination
why you believe a plant would have more reproductive success with either a specialized pollinator or multiple pollinators

Cheetah mothers perform a number of different behaviors. They and their cubs stay in one place for only four days, moving on before they leave too strong a smell behind in one area. They also expend time and energy teaching their cubs to hunt successfully. In one or two sentences, explain how these behaviors affect cheetah reproductive success.(2 points)

Plz help I don’t wanna make a bad grade on this. :(

Here are your answers, 14 and 15 you have to do by yourself-- or just look it up (OR MAYBE YOU SHOULD HAVE STUDIED {sorry}). But here are the answers for this, I'd read my answers INSTEAD of just looking at the letters like A, B, C.

@Skye

sssuuurrreeeeeee budddy lol ur definately not here for answers

hi everyone!! these are the answers to question 14 and 15

Question 14- The flowers pollinated by moths are pale or white and are flat, enabling the moths to land. One well-studied example of a moth-pollinated plant is the yucca plant, which is pollinated by the yucca moth. The shape of the flower and moth have adapted in such a way as to allow successful pollination.

Question 15- The cheetah and her cubs staying in one place for only four days and then moving on helps keep the cubs safe from predators. If the cubs are safe they can grow and reproduce. The cheetah mothers also teach their Cubs to hunt, so the cubs can hunt their food and survive and be able to reproduce.

There is the answers!! hope this helps :) im not sure if question 14 is totally right so if anyone wanna check that they can but question 15 is 100% right so yeah hope this helps

(for those of you whose question for #9 is different)

What is the difference between courtship behavior and territorial behavior?
