  2. Organic Chemistry trend question: branching of hydrocarbons increase boiling point. Hydrogen bonding also increases boiling point, more so than branching.

    Butanoic acid is able to form H-bonds with itself. Methyl propane is branched.

    Butanoic acid > Methyl propane >Butane
