An image of a rocket is shown. The rocket is made up of a triangle, a rectangle, and a trapezoid. The triangle at the top of the rocket has a base of length 3 inches and a height of 4 inches. The rectangle in the middle of the rocket has a height of 10 inches and a length of 3 inches. The trapezoid at the bottom of the rocket has one base of length 3 inches at the top, another base of length 5 inches at the bottom, and a height of 2 inches.

Use familiar figures to find the area of the figure shown. Show all work.

  2. actually the answer is 44
    the top triangle is 6
    the middle is 30
    and the bottom is 8
    6+30+8=44

  3. Find the area of the complex figure.

A figure has 8 sides; all sides meet at right angles. The left-most vertical side measures 31 meters. The lower most horizontal side measures 69 meters. The right-most vertical side measures 31 meters. The upper right horizontal side measures 23 meters. The middle horizontal side measures 23 meters. The upper middle left vertical side measures 12 meters.

  4. U have to add up all the areas so first shape is the triangle so 4x3=12 then divide 12÷2=6 so the area of the triangle is 6. Now to the next shape which is the rectangle so just multiply 10x3=30 so 30 is the area of the rectangle. Last shape is the trapizoid so the bases of it are 3,5,2 so ur going to have to add 3+5 Soooo HARD which equals 8 then multiply 8x2=16 then 16÷2=8 then finally add all of the areas together and BAM 6+30+8=44 there u go people hope that helps:)

  6. For anyone who needs help, for the area of the trapezoid just do this:
    2 x 5 = 10 x 0.5 = 5
    2 x 3 = 6 x 0.5 =3
    3 + 5 = 8

For the area of the triangle do the same thing but instead:
    4 x 3 = 12 x 0.5 = 6

    And for the rectangle its just 3 x 10 = 30

    Now add up 8, 6, and 30 for 44
