    In any case, if you can discern the probability of success with a tile or a coin, then the probability of the compound event is just the product of the two individual probabilities, since the events are independent.

  4. Say there are 7 tiles, and a coin. Then the answer would be 1/14. How you do it is you total up the possible outcomes for the tiles,and multiply it by 2, because the coin has a 1/2 probability to be either. So, with 7 tiles, the answer is 1 in 14
