60x2/5 is that = to 12/5x2/5

and the x is the times sign

i kinda know how but im not sure if i should multiply or divide here i was pretty sure i had to multiply but my answer was too small then i divided and it was too big

12/5 x 2/5 = (12x2)/(5x5) = 24/25

60 x 2/5 = 120/5
doesn't look the same to me.
60/5 = 12x5/5 = 12

steve can u help me on this question real quick i am confused

huh? I did what I could.

Do you know how to multiply fractions?
If not, go read up on that, and my solution will make sense.

it is

You buy clothing at a sale. You buy sneakers at 2/5 of the original price of 60 a sweater at 7/10 of its original price of 35 and a jacket at 5/6 of its original price answer each question and show all your work
A how much money did you spend
B how much money did you save
C what fraction of the total price did you save
i have to answer all of these and i am confused can u help me

2/5 * 60 = 2 * 60/5 = 2*12 = 24 = 24.00 (or, 0.40 * 60 = 24.00)

7/10 * 35 = (7*35)/(2*5) = 49/2 = 24.50 (or 0.70 * 35 = 24.50)
Without knowing the original price of the jacket, there's no way to tell how much it cost.
Figure that out, add up all the money spent.

Then subtract that from the sum of the original costs to find savings.

The fraction saved is (amount saved)/(total original cost)

oh sorry i forgot to type that it is 45 dollars for the jacket the total price
