  12. He was a distant cousin of Edward and said that Edward had promised him the throne when visiting France in 1051. He even said his claim had been accepted by Harold Godwinson in 1064, when Harold had been blown onto the Norman shore by a storm. William invaded England to become King and claim the throne from Harold. I hope this helps and I’m not to late. I also recommend looking over your information in your books.

  16. It's not hard to ignore what Anonymous said. It's probably some little kid who's trying to be edgy. Just ignore it, you're giving him/her attention, which is what they want.

And I'm only dragging this on because I just want yall to know; If anyone is ever trying to make you feel bad, just ignore them. They only want to see you break at their words, but don't let them win.

  27. Did everyone seriously ignore the super-helpful article that @bobpursley had gave to us...? C'mon guys, read it, it's helpful. Also, stop trying to bully literal site tutors, they know quite a lot more than you, and are just trying to help you out. You should treat them with respect. I honestly don't care what you reply back to me, just trying to help... :/

  34. Ms. Hoggard's answer got me 2/4 points. Here's a better answer.
The Normans were interested in England's wealth. Duke William of Normandy was related to the Anglo-Saxon king. The real power was held by a family named the Godwins. King Edward allegedly promised the throne to one of the Godwins. William claimed that Edward had promised it to him. The Norwegian king also claimed the throne. The Norwegians invaded, as did the Normans. Hope this helps! :)
