22. The geography of North Africa greatly affected the settlement patterns of humans in North Africa. Humans need water and fertile soils to grow food and raise animals. Humans tend to settle and live along the Nile that provide water for basic living needs. The great civilization of earthen walls was built along the Nile River. The Nile River would flood every summer and leave behind rich soil for growing crops. This lead to the great cities and civilization of food and lots of plants/crops to eat and sell.

This system limited where black people could live, work, travel, and go to school. It also forbade from voting or marrying people of different races.
