Hello,

I just finished a couple of quizzes regarding nosotros commands (I have a quiz tomorrow on them)

As I was completing the quiz, I noticed I got this incorrect:

In context: "Vamos a decirlo" Therefore I changed it to digámoslo. However, a grammatical text mentions that it is Digámoselo. I am pretty "iffy" on this, especially on my quiz tomorrow. Is there a difference between each? Are there any additional sites that may help me on nosotros commands as well?

Thank you so much for your consideration. (I aced all my previous quizzes thanks to Jiskha!)

Thank you for using the Jiskha Homework Help Forum. If I understand the pattern, you saw "vamos a decirlo" to change it to "digámoslo." There is no indirect object in the model (le, changing to se in front of lo). If you had seen "vamos a decírselo" then you would have wanted "digámoselo."

The nosotros/nosotras command, usually called the "let's or let us form" is expressed by the first person plural of the Present Subjunctive. (esper4emos, salgamos) except for "let us go" which is simply vamos, unless it is negative = no vayamos.

Hey, it means,"to look upon my shoulder, I must find the sun to follow." Trust me, I had the same test two years ago.

  1. Diagamoslo = le's say it. Decimos el secreto? Si, digamoslo. Let's say it. In this case, LO is a direct objct pronoun.

Digamoselo = let's say it to him. The "se" is the indirect object prooun "le" which becomes "se" before the direct "lo,los,la,las". Le decimos el secreto? (Should we tell him the secret? Si, digamoselo. Yes, let's tell it to him. Let's tell him the secret.

So, DIGAMOSLO is correct but it means Let's say IT. DIGAMOSELO is correct, but it means Let's say IT TO HIM.
