Thank you for using the Jiskha Homework Help Forum. Did you tell your teacher that you did not understand the concept? Then it could be explained in different terms that you could understand. Your teacher is always the best source when you don't understand something.

Depending upon what you were asked to do, here are some links:

1. http://exchanges.state.gov/education/engteaching/gpm.htm (slide down for the story but there is a great review of prepositions here)

2. www.toytowntreasures.com/Prepositional_Phrases_story.pdf (Since this is a pdf file, you will have to download it)

3. www.aacintervention.com/tips/Stories%20in%20New%20York%20Minute.doc (another pdf story)

When all else fails, go to your local library and ask the librarian for help.

I'm not really sure what your assignment is unless you have to write a children's book that uses LOTS of prepositions. If that's right, then take a look at the prepositions on these webpages:

http://www.chompchomp.com/terms/preposition.htm

http://grammar.ccc.commnet.edu/grammar/prepositions.htm

http://owl.english.purdue.edu/handouts/esl/eslprep.html

Now take a look at the assignment your teacher gave you and a look at what you wrote. Can you change some parts? Do you have to start over? Make a decision -- and start writing!

Then you can re-post and someone here can give you feedback.

To create a prepositional story, you can follow these steps:

1. Understand the concept of prepositions: Prepositions are words that show the relationship between nouns or pronouns and other words in the sentence. They usually indicate location, direction, time, or manner. Examples of prepositions include "in," "on," "under," "beside," "above," "after," "between," and "through."

2. Brainstorm ideas for your story: Think of a theme or topic for your story. It can be about animals, nature, daily activities, or anything you like. Consider incorporating prepositions into your story by focusing on the location, direction, or movement of characters.

3. Create a plot: Develop a storyline with a clear beginning, middle, and end. Introduce characters and describe their actions using prepositions. For example, "The cat sat on the mat," or "The bird flew over the rainbow."

4. Use prepositions in your sentences: Make sure to include prepositional phrases in your sentences to show the relationship between nouns and other words. For example, "The rabbit hopped through the garden," or "The children played in the park."

5. Edit and revise your story: Read through your story and make sure it flows well. Check for grammar and punctuation errors, and make any necessary revisions to improve the overall coherence and clarity of the story.

Once you have written your story, you can ask your teacher for feedback or share it with others to get their opinions. Remember to be creative and have fun while writing your prepositional story!
