What is the vertex form of the equation?
y = -x^2+12x-4
My work:
-(x^2 + 12x)-4
-(x^2 + 12x + 36)-4 + 36
Y= -(x+36)^2 + 32

Is this correct? I am not sure if I did this right or not? Thank you!

  1. my try:
    x^2 -12 x = -y - 4

    x^2 - 12 x + 6^2 = -y -4 + 36

    (x-6)^2 = -y + 32
    so
    (y-32) = -(x-6)^2

    vertex at (6 , 32)
