Explain how sexual reproduction increases genetic diversity in many species of plants and animals, make sure to include the importance and function of gametes. PLEASE HELP!!

Two parents are required for asexual reproduction to occur. The 23 chromosome numbers of sex cells or gametes are divided in half during mitosis. Two sex cells, one from each parent, fuse to form a being with half the cells. Because offspring inherit chromosomes from two parents, genetic diversity is increased.

just so you know its sexual not asexual

tbh none of this makes sence legit ._.

She forgot to add a space between a and sexual. :/

adding more on............ They get genes from both sides which change change how they look. Like with animals of different species they would be half of both. With plants it will have colors and height like both plants.

thanks Julie I appreciate it :)

Dude I'm low key confused

yeah probably

use Julies answer i got it right

I thought it happened in the process of meiosis???

Sexual reproduction provides genetic diversity because the sperm and egg that are produced contain different combinations of genes than the parent organisms. Sexual reproduction involves meiosis, which is the process of a cell doubling its DNA, shuffling its genes, and then dividing the shuffled DNA among four cells.

HALP ME ME BOI I NEED HALP T^T

Your welcome :)

confusing

i also need help

meiosis is body repair, not reproduction.

I will give answers once I'm done but,

Mitosis:Body repair
Meiosis: Reproduction cells

@:( you and me both

mitosis-sexual reproduction

meiosis-body recovery and repair

Thank you son of god

Since this is not my area of expertise, I searched Google under the key words "genetic diversity sexual reproduction" to get these possible sources:

In the future, you can find the information you desire more quickly, if you use appropriate key words to do your own search. Also see http://hanlib.sou.edu/searchtools/.
