  2. If he saved 1 / 4 of money, he has:

    1 - 1 / 4 = 4 / 4 - 1 / 4 = 3 / 4 of a sum of money.

    a)

    4 / 9 of 3 / 4 = ( 4 / 9 ) * ( 3 / 4 ) = 4 * 3 / 9 * 4 = 12 / 36 = 12 / 12 * 3 = 1 / 3

He spend 1 / 3 money on suitcase.

    b)

    3 / 4 - 1 / 3 = 3 * 3 / 4 * 3 - 4 * 1 / 4 * 3 = 9 / 12 - 4 / 12 = 5 / 12

5 / 12 of his money was left?
