How you do multiplication as scaling like

2 1/2 x 3 2/3 3 2/3
I suppose to say if it is <, >, or =

Can someone explain how to solve this problem I need to learn how to do it because my daughter is having trouble getting it and I don't know how to do it

Are you supposed to put one of the signs on the blank line?

2 1/2 x 3 2/3__________ 3 2/3

Yes

What do you think should go on that line?

I don't have idea can you explain how to solve the problem my daughter is in home studying and I don't remember how to do it I try khan academy and I don't find anything that helps me and my daughter have more than 35 problems like this

2 1/2 x 3 2/3 is obviously more than 3 2/3

Use the link I posted to find the symbol for "more than".

How you multiple the fraction so you can compare the answer my daughter is in 5th grade

My daughter knows how to use the symbols

Does she understand this statement?

2 1/2 x 3 2/3 is obviously more than 3 2/3

Yes

2 1/2 = 5/2

3 2/3 = 11/3

(5/2) * (11/3) = 55/6 = 9 1/6

She is learning how to do fraction with mixes numbers using rounding,compatible numbers and compatible benchmark fraction like 31x 2/7

Or like 5 7/8 x 6 3/4=
So I want to learn how to do it so i can help her

So you multiply 2 1/2 like this

2x2=4
4+1= 5 So become 5/2
And 3 2/3 like this
3x3=9
9+2= 11 so become 11/3
