smoking!

4. Cigarette smoke has been found to have the following effects on the respiratory system.
1. There is destruction of many of the cilia that line parts of the respiratory tract.
2. There is a thickening of the walls of the bronchioles, thus reducing the interior diameter of the tubes.
3. There is a rupturing of the walls of some of the alveoli.
Refer to each of the effects listed above and indicate how the normal functioning of the respiratory tract is altered by smoking tobacco

I don't understand what to do?

You need to consider each of the effects of cigarette smoke on the respiratory system. Then decide how that effect changes the respiratory system.

1. Smoking destroys many of the cilia that line parts of the respiratory tract.

What do the cilia do? What happens when many of these cilia are destroyed?

2. Smoking thickens the walls of the bronchioles and makes the tubes smaller.

What do the walls and tubes of the bronchioles do? What happens to the body when these tubes are made smaller?

3. Some alveoli walls are ruptured.

What do the alveoli do? What happens to the body if some of these alveoli are ruptured?

Since this is not my area of expertise, I searched Google under the key words "'smoking effects' lungs" to get these possible sources:
