I still do not understand this problem?

find a number such that when added to the numerator and denominator of 2/11 yields a fraction equivalent to 1/2?

thanks

If you add 7 to the numerator and 7 to the denominator you get 9/18.
9/18= 9x1/9x2 = 1/2

It means add the same number to both the top number(numerator) and the bottom (denominator) until you find one that gives you a fraction that is equivalent to 1/2.

ex. if you add 1 to each you would get 3/12.
if you add 2 to each you would get 4/13.

Keep trying this until you get one that works :)

thanks for the help
