You are correct. It makes absolutely no sense why gender-neutral pronouns aren't normal anymore like they were in the 15-1700s. Not only is it more inclusive, but it is also just.. well, easier. No need to worry about two separate main pronoun groups, (She her, He him) but just one instead (They, Them, Theirs.)
