Why did the English want to hide their colony from Spaniards? Please help!!!!

The English settlement of Virginia, or the Jamestown colony. And during the early 1600s

So why did they want to hide their colony?

OHHHHHHH. Was it because they didn't want to get their colony taken over by the Spanish, so they kept their colony hidden for this reason?

Thank you!

Yea

Still don't see it

No

Try reading the websites posted above and see why the English didn't want to advertise their settlement to the Spanish.

Thank for answer eu

Would you tell your enemy that you were opening a new store across town from his if he might firebomb it?

Taken over or attacked, probably yes!

Sshh!! Don't tell anyone, but your answer is found in the websites linked above.

Which colony? When?

This may explain a lot. And remember Spain already had extensive colonies in the Americas by 1604, including Florida to the south of Jamestown.
