the tank with one face resting on the bottom of
the tank.find the volume of the water in the litre must be poured in the tank so that the metal cube is just submerged in the water.

  1. you need to raise the water by 4 cm. That would be a volume of 30x20x4 cm^3

    But, the 4 cm of the block displace water, so you need to subtract 10x10x4 cm^3 from that total.

    Then convert cm^3 to liters.

    Volume of cube=10^3=1000 cc

    If the cube is fully immersed,then volume of water=6000-1000=5000 cc

    Base area of tank=30×20=600 cc

    When tank was filled with water at depth 6cm, then volume of water
    =600×6=3600 cc

    Therefore,Volume of water that must be poured in tank so that metal cube is just submerged in water =6000-3600
    =1400cc
    =1.4 litres. (1000cc=1litre)
