Has anyone read "The Destructors" who can help me with a few questions?

My questions are:

The mood on "The Destructors" is best described as
humorous
horrific
adventuresome
cold

In "The Destructors" Greene uses a lot of ___ in the boy's language to enrich their characterization.
slang
sophisticated language
slant rhyme
imagery

1. I thought either cold or humorous. What the boys are doing is cold, but they think it's humorous so I don't know.

2. I was going to say imagery because there's a lot of description of what's going to be smashed/broken etc. and how to do it. I don't fully understand slant ryhme so I don't know if that's maybe an option and slang could be it too.

Any ideas/help?

  1. Cold may be apt. Horrific might be also. The boys think it's funny, but it isn't, which makes it all the more horrific? You decide.

Using dialect, whether it's slang or ethnic (whatever) helps demonstrate character and contributes to our understanding of the characters. This is the way the characters talk, and it helps us visualize them better.
