0.6x + 0.8 = 1.4
Explain each step and identify the property
0.6x + 0.8 = 1.4
subtraction property of equality: subtract 0.8 from both sides
0.6x = 0.6
now use the division property, and divide both sides by 0.6:
x = 1

thats ok and welcome
0.6x+0.8=1.4
0.6+0.8=1.4
0.6*1 Is called the indentity property. Which is either going to be 1 or 0. So it is narrowed down for you. If you put 0 look what happens. 0.6*0=0 So it cannot be that since you are changing the value of it. 0.6*1=0.6 So it must be 1 since it is not changing the value. Does this help?
