9. how you would convert the repeating, non terminating decimal to a fraction? explain the process as you solve the problem. 0.1515

I don't understand this question can someone help explain this?

let x = .151515...

times 100
100x = 15.151515...
subtract them:
notice the decimals line up and will subtract to get zeros
99x = 15
x = 15/99 = 5/33

check with your calculator by dividing 5 by 33

Reiny is correct but in the part where he says "subtract them" he means subtract 100 by 0.151515 which will equal 99. so thats where he got 99 from. then 99 x 0.151515 will equal 15. Try dividing 15 by 99... did you get 0.151515...? so 15/99 in fraction form is also 5/33. to check if 0.151515 = 5/33 divide 5 by 33. anyway your final answer is 5/33

hope this cleared it up a bit, if not read it again carefully until you get it. :)

@Star Lord, you are a life saver. I praise you. I’m horrible at math XD

Hey Star Lord and Reiny, I'm still kind of confused about the parts with the 100, can you help me understand?

I'm not here from Connexus. I go to a public propel school. We just use almost the same curriculum. I came here because I don't understand this either and was hoping someone could explain this because I didn't understand my lesson.

For number 10 -

turn 0.57 into a fraction. So 0.57 into a fraction is obviously 57/100, now since its is a fraction it is rational.

lol the answer for number 4 tho XD the name

in still confused on how to convert the repeating, nontermanating decimal to a fraction. can some one please explain it a little more clearly?

PLEASE ANSWER NOBODY GAVE A GOOD ANSWER

you right

Star is correct!!!! Thanks a bundle Star!

Thank you so much I’m failing math and really needed some help

How would you convert the repeating, nonterminating decimal to a fraction? Explain the process as you solve the problem. 0.1515…

x = .151515
.151515 x 100 = 15.151515
100x = 15.151515
15.151515 - .151515 = 15
15/99 simplified 5/33

im still confused

this is lame

yea

wow, then the kids dislike the nice advice you gave them. they're dense

Exactly G. And if you don't learn you are ging to be stressed at the end of the year, and you will have no clue about any of this. It is better to learn it, then to struggle in life cuz u were to lazy to do your work.

I hope you can understand what is being taught in the lessons. Im on here to help my daughter understand on the practice questions. Remember you can't use the internet when taking end of the year exams/tests.
