Mr. Baker wants to enlarge a photo that is 5 by 7 inches so that the dimensions are 3 times larger than the original. How many times larger than the original photo will the area of the new photo be?

If the dimensions are three times larger that means that the new photo will be 15 x 21 inches.

Find the area of the original photo by multiplying 5 x 7. Do the same for the new photo. Then divide the area of the new photo by the area of the old photo. This is your answer.
