Spanish

Something is wrong with this sentence: Me gustan tomar comida y corro.

I know that tomar and comida means eat and drink. So there needs to be a verb in there. But tomar can also mean to take so that could be a verb too. I have no clue what corro means.

I am confused

  1. Indeed, there is something wrong! First of all it could be the "context" such as: where did you see this? The verb "gustar" is singular if the "tomar comida y corro" is one phrase. Next, the word "corro" is usually the child's game "ring-around-the-rosy" or used in the expression "hacer corro" = to make room. True, "tomar" is to take, to drink; to get, seize; to catch (a cold) or to take, eat (breakfast) = see what I mean by "context" or "exactly how the word is used." There IS a verb in the sentence you wrote = gustar = to be pleasing.

Also, "corro" could come from the verb "correr" = to run. In that case, "corro" would mean "I run, I do run, I am running!"

  3. If you were trying to say "I like to eat and to run" = Me gusta comer y correr.
