A picture frame in 17 inches long and 13 inches wide,it is placed in a 2 inch wide frame. The frame is 21 inches long, what is the area of the frame? It has a hidden question

The area of the picture is

17 * 13 = 221 square inches

The picture frame (with backing) is
21 * 17 = 357 square inches

357 - 221 = _______ square inches for the frame

You're welcome.

Are you sure?

A picture frame is placed in a picture frame?

Do you mean that a picture is 17 by 13 and is placed in a frame?

Thank you appreciate it.

Yes sorry a picture

I'm confused. A picture frame is 17 in long and 13 in wide, it is placed in a 2 in wide frame. It shows a picture of a frame with 21 in long it does not show the width of the frame in the picture.

Since the frame is 2 inches wide, it is 4 inches longer and 4 inches wider than the picture.

So the area of the picture frame is 136

136 square inches -- yes.

I got it sorry thank you

You're welcome.

:-)

Problem 4: A block of mass m slides down a frictionless incline as:

The block is released from height h above the bottom of the circular loop.
(a) Find the force exerted on the block by the inclined track at point A. (Hint: Consider the Newton’s 2nd law in the radial direction and you may use polar coordinates for this circular part of the path to relate the acceleration and velocity components).
(b) Find the force exerted on the block by the inclined track at point B.
(c) Find the speed of the block at point B.
(d) What is the maximum height that the block can reach after leaving the track?
(e) Find the distance between point A and the point that the block land on ground level?
